Our team at FullCircle has been looking for administrative support for several months. Anecdotally, several of our peers currently seem to be on a similar search. They shared remarkably similar observations about a noticeable change in supply and demand dynamics for administrative services. As we improve our tech stack and implement more and more automated workflows, we keep uncovering others and additional (often native) automations seem to launch virtually every day. Our ongoing quest for operational excellence has validated one of our hypotheses about the evolution of work toward an increasingly granular fractionalization of tasks and value creation.
Many service providers still require too high a minimum number of weekly hours despite businesses’ decreasing need for them. One of the working groups at our recent Work in Progress gathering discussed the growing prevalence of multi-organizational workers and the massive opportunity it represents to fundamentally rethink “full-time” employment and career development. We will be releasing our report over the coming weeks and look forward to pursuing our engaging discussions (be sure to sign up here if you’d like to receive an email copy).
As we continue to shift toward portfolio careers and fractional work, we will almost certainly need to dismantle old business models (like hourly billing) and introduce new ways to break down units of value, disassociated from a single worker, job, team or function. If you are working on solutions to help organizations better analyze and fulfill their needs by breaking down traditional silos and eliminating outdated structured job requirements, please email me here and/or fill out this form. I look forward to hearing from you!
